Proper Rear Wheel Removal
You do not have to be afraid to take off your rear wheel to fit the bike in a trunk or fix a flat. Taking off the rear wheel will not mess up the chain or shifting. It is very easy to remove the rear wheel just follow these steps.
 1) Shift the rear derailleur into the smallest rear cog and the smallest chain ring in front to give the chain the most slack. |
  2) Before loosing quick release un hook brake on mountain bike by sliding noodle out of holder then lifting brake wire and noodle out. On a road bike brake rotate lever sideways which opens the brake up wide enough for the tire to pass between the brake pads. |
 3) pull side ways on quick release lever which will allow wheel to be slid down and out of frame. |
